Flowers & more at fair

Downtown Lake Orion is hosting its fourth annual Flower Fair and Home and Garden Marketplace on May 21-22. This year is expected to be the biggest ever and the streets will be jammed with lots of vendors.
Hours for this year’s celebration of spring are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m.-4 on Sunday.
Vendors will offer everything from flats of flowers to water plants, new windows, brick pavers and decking, garden ponds, outdoor furniture — and what would any fair be without food.
In conjunction with the Orion Art Center, Downtown Lake Orion is also hosting Art in Bloom, an all-media art fair.
Sagebrush Cantina will be back downtown for two days serving up its famous Mexican fare. Get your fix of Sagebrush cuisine until it reopens. Other treats available will be roasted nuts, kettle corn, ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.
Be sure to stop by the Ace Hardware booth and sign up for a Yardman Lawn Tractor give-a-way. Other prizes have been donated by Midwest Fiberglass Pools, Brandywine Farm, Jacobsen’s Garden Town, Shades of Green Nursery, John’s Pet Containment and Otis Acres.
Speakers will be on hand throughout both days to answer your questions about their products and to give
‘how to do? lessons.

A Wine Tasting & Art Crawl is scheduled for May 20, 6-9:30 p.m. The Orion Historical Society and Downtown Lake Orion are sponsoring the Mystery Tour of Fine Art and Fine Wine.
A huge success last year, this event begins at the Poppyseed Deli where participants receive their clues for the Fine Art Tour.
This is a walking tour through downtown businesses looking for clues hidden in original works of art. When participants have solved the puzzle, they will meet at Tatum Studios for appetizers and a wine tasting sponsored by Oxford Wine & Beverage.
A cigar roller will also be there demonstrating the fine art of rolling cigars. Lots of prizes will be awarded. Tickets are $20 each and are being sold at Oxford Wine & Beverage, Tatum Studios and the Downtown Lake Orion office.
