The Lake Orion boys track and field team added a meet against Troy and a turn in the Oxford Invitational to their winning record, while the girls team lost to the Colts and placed second at Oxford.
Against Troy on May 3, the Dragon boys won, 79-49, with Ryan Allison taking the 110 hurdles (14.85), and the 300 hurdles (39.34). Rob Shinouskis won the 3200 run (10:15.05) for the team, while Ben Hopkins took the long jump (6-0).
Also winning for Lake Orion was JP Findlay in the long jump (19-7.5), and the team went on to also take the 100 dash, 800 relay, 400 relay, and 200 dash.
The Lake Orion girls lost to Troy, 74-54, winning the 800 relay (1:52.1), 300 hurdles, discus and shot put.
Sara Lieblein took the 3200 run for the team with a time of 11:51.5, while Katie Reilly was the winner in the 1600 (5:21.8).
In the Oxford Invitational on May 7, the Lake Orion boys took first place with 210 points. Hopkins had another top finish, this time in the high jump (6-2), while teammate Chris O’Dea took second (5-8). Kyle Johns won the pole vault for the Dragons (11-0), and Kevin Comstock was second (10-6).
Allison was the winner of the 110 hurdles (14:22) and the 300 hurdles (40.13), with teammate Mike Fingado taking second in both events (14.6 in the 110, and 42.17 in the 300).
Billy Peterson finished first in the 1600 run (4:33.51), and the 3200 (9:57), where Shinouskis was second (9:58 in the 3200).
The Lake Orion girls lost to Detroit Renaissance, who won the invite with 133 points. The Dragons finished with 125.
For Lake Orion, Stephanie Ferguson tied in the pole vault with teammate Jesse Dorsey (6-6), and Blaire James finished second in the high jump (4-10).
Cara Slossan had second place finishes in the shot put (34-6) and the discus (93-10) for the team, while Reilly took the 1600 (5:25.81).
Lieblein was first in the 3200 run for Lake Orion, with a time of 12:24.
