Track teams defeat Lapeer East, host invitational

Boys Track
In the victory over Lapeer East last Wednesday, it was not only the first place finishers that helped clinch the win, it was the second and third place finishes that made all the difference.
The Wildcats defeated the Eagles 73-63 and improved their record to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.
In the shot put and discus, senior Vince Belistsos continued his winning record in the pits, earning first place in both events. Oxford swept the hurdle events behind junior Kam Mueller’s first place finishes, who also placed second in the shotput.
‘Kam is a good leader with a young hurdle crew, this was a big win for him in both events,? head coach Andrew McDonald said.
Junior Brad Grunewald placed second in both hurdle events that helped clinched the win.
In the 110M dash, sophomore Nick Collier took first place with sophomore Jay Regan close behind in third place, and freshman James Nelson finished ahead of two East sprinters in the 200M dash.
Three Oxford runners commanded the 3200M run. Senior Kenny White took second, senior German Guerrero third place, and senior Adam Richmond placed first in the event, as well as in the 1600M.

The Ladycats defeated the Lapeer East Eagles 73-63 as well, and just like the boys, improved their record to 4-2 overall, and 3-1 in the league.

‘Ellen’s effort in both races was a key component of the total team effort,? McDonald said.
