The Road Commission for Oakland County recently installed four new left turn signals at Joslyn and Clarkston Roads, after completing a traffic study in the area.
According to RCOC Public Information Officer Craig Bryson, the signals should help prevent unnecessary delays that were caused by traffic backing up while waiting to turn left.
‘It was determined that there was not enough gaps in traffic to allow the left turns,? he said.
The RCOC conducted a traffic study at the intersection and found that signals were needed.
Installation of the signals was completed about two weeks ago.
Bryson said a new left turn signal was installed for each of the four traffic lights at the intersection.
‘We are continually adding new intersections to be studied in high growth areas,? Bryson said.
