The U11 Lake Orion Dragons baseball team recently completed a successful season, finishing with a 31-14 record and a .700 winning percentage.
A highlight win for the team was handing eventual league champ Bloomfield Sting their only loss of the season, 11-9.
In June, the Dragons qualified for the Triple Crown World Series in Boulder, Colorado, with a second place finish in the Lansing qualifier.
They also traveled and earned a fifth place finish in the rain-shorted AAYBA World Series in St. Louis, Missouri.
To close out the season, the Dragons were one of the North Oakland Baseball Federation’s three representatives in the AABC Super Regional Tournament, held in Howell.
The U11 Dragons are proof that Lake Orion is producing some of the best young ball players in our state, said the team’s coach.
Contributions were made up and down the roster all season long by catcher/pitcher Shane Stockwell, shortshop/pitcher Brett Wyss, third baseman/pitcher Dylan Rosen, and first sacker Austin Voydanoff.
Also from second baseman/pitcher Bradley Bogus, outfielder/second baseman Ryan McKeon, and outfielders Drew DeOrsey and Adam Yee.
