Lake Orion Men’s Softball League report

The Eagles clinched the American Division regular season championship on Aug. 4, with a 20-11 victory over BW3s in the Lake Orion Men’s Softball League.
Derek Hoffman went 4-for-5 with a homerun, and Mike Chamarro was also 4-for-5 to pace the winners, who wrapped up the regular season with a 14-2 overall record, and an 8-1 record in the division.
Scott Rouse went 4-for-4, and Bobby Bragan was 3-for-4 to carry BW3s, which finished fourth in the division with a 7-9 overall record.
McKinney Brothers Carpentry defeated Quality Fast, 40-14. Matt Moulder wrapped up the homerun title and led McKinney to this win by smashing three homers in a 6-for-7 night at the plate.
Nick Walls also homered in a 6-for-7 effort and Ed Buxton was perfect with 7-for-7 for the winners.
McKinney also finished 14-2, but dropped to second in the American Division.
Eric Brittingham went 4-for-4 and Matt Morris was 3-for-3 to lead Quality Fast, which finished fifth in the division at 11-5.
SOS Mechanical defeated Cobra Computers, 32-8. SOS wrapped up third in the American Division with this victory.
Jim Vackaro was 6-for-6 and Ralph Adranga was 5-for-5 to pace SOS. Dwayne Smith (4-for-5) and Bruce Walter (3-for-5) each homered in the winning effort. SOS finished the regular season at 9-7.
Larry Atworthy and Ryan Thomas were each 3-for-4, while Darrin Sliwa (2-for-4) and Jamie Kennedy (2-for-4) each homered for Cobra, which wrapped up a 4-12 season.
Wagon Wheel I defeated Griffin Fence, 17-16, clinching the fourth and final playoff spot in the National Division with this victory over the division champion.
Keith Lester went 4-for-4, and Jimmy Hoffman (4-for-5) and Brian McCall (4-for-5) each homered to pace the winners. Wagon Wheel finished the season with a 6-10 record.
Donnie Miller and Dave Miller each went 5-for-5, but it wasn’t enough as Griffin slipped to 11-5. A loss by Ruby Tuesdays (10-6) allowed Griffin to clinch the division crown.
Tool, Sport and Sign defeated Hamlin Pub, 22-15. Tool Sport overcame a 13-11 deficit after five innings by scoring four runs in the sixth, and seven more in the seventh to secure the victory and a third place finish in the National Division.
Tool Sport wrapped up the regular season with an 8-8 record.
Brett Slocum (4-for-5) and Andy Roberts (3-for-5) each homered for Tool Sport, and Kevin Sims and Jerry Hoffman also chipped in with four hits each.
Matt Schroeder went 1-for-1 with four walks and a homerun to pace Hamlin, which finished tied for fifth in the division with a 4-12 mark.
Wagon Wheel II defeated Ruby Tuesdays, 19-18, wrapping up the regular season with a modest two-game winning streak.
Wagon Wheel finishes tied for fifth in the National Division at 4-12. Ruby Tuesdays finishes in second place at 10-6.
Todd Brittingham, Dennis Hartwick and Ryan Caddick each went 4-for-5 to pace Wagon Wheel.

League playoffs began Aug. 11. Divisional championship games will be played Aug. 18.
The 44th annual Best-of-Three LOMSL World Series is slated for Aug. 22-24.
