Pet Supplies ‘Plus,? the nation’s third largest pet store chain is joining the chains 50 stores in Michigan in raising much-needed funds to help the Michigan Humane Society send a rescue team down to the Gulf Coast region to aid the dogs, cats and other animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Pet Supplies ‘Plus? is raising funds by placing donation canisters in its stores in 48 Michigan cities. The chain’s management and employees are also contributing to the relief effort.

Members of the Orion Oxford Dance Studio are hosting a Hurricane Katrina Car Wash benefit on Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The car wash takes place rain or shine in Lake Orion’s Ace Hardware Parking lot, 1265 South Lapeer Road.
Monies raised will be going to help people hurt by the recent hurricane. Donations will also be accepted.
