Let the fun begin.
The annual Homecoming parade, sponsored by the Lake Orion High School Student Council, in downtown Lake Orion is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and end about 5:45 on Sept. 30.
The proposed route begins at the Ehman Center on Elizabeth Street, goes east on Elizabeth, south on Washington, west on Flint and then north on Broadway Street back to the beginning point.
The Lake Orion Police Department at 3 p.m. will begin closing roadside parking along Flint Street, between Anderson and Broadway, and Broadway, between Flint and Shadbolt.
Intersections at M-24/Broadway, M-24/Flint, M-24/Shadbolt, M-24/Church, M-24/Elizabeth and Flint/Perry will be closed at 4:45.
Police advise using alternate routes if trying to enter the downtown area.
