Clarkston’s girls cross country team’s margin of victory may not of been as wide as usual but the Wolves still won the Carson City Invitational on Oct. 1. The Wolves won with a score of 59 points, Rockford was second with 75 points.
Freshmen Stephanie Morgan finished first overall with a time of 18:36. Also scoring for the Wolves in Carson City was seniors Lyndsay Smith (10th), Jenny Morgan (11th), and Lisa Sickman (13th) and junior Jenna Leach (24th).
On the boys side of things, Clarkston won the Hanson Invitational on Oct. 2, finishing with a total of 63 points. Grosse Pointe North came in behind the Wolves in second place with 105 points.
Hazen Brennan led Clarkston with a time of 17:16, good for sixth place overall. Brother Ed Brennan finished 10th overall with a time of 17:35. Filling out the Wolves scoring were Chris Anderson (12th), Nick LaMora (17:48) and Matt Inch (19th).
The boys and girls cross country teams tri-meet on Oct. 3 finished too late for this edition of The Clarkston News.
Both teams run in the Oakland County race at Kensington Metropark on Oct. 8.
