The varsity Wildcats hosted the Holly Bronchos last Monday in league action.
Oxford came out kicking and scored 5 goals in the first half of the game.
The Oxford team and fans were handed a real treat when senior keeper Shane Rondy denied a Holly penalty kick.
Oxford defeated the Bronchos 7-0 to notch another victory to their record.
Senior Dave Kourtjian had four goals for the Wildcats, while junior midfielder Francesco Paese had three goals.
‘Oxford was ready to play tonight, and it showed,? stated head coach John Thaler. ‘Having been in a scoring drought the past few games, the boys picked it up with a vengeance.?
Holly never really had any chances to score, except for the penalty kick thanks to the unstoppable Wildcat defense. Shane Rondy recorded his fourth shutout in the league, and his tenth overall.
Oxford continued their winning ways on Wednesday coming off of their huge win against Holly.
This time it was the Fenton Tigers going head to head with the Wildcats.
Oxford and Fenton each had two goals in the first ten minutes of the game.
Paese scored Oxford’s first goal, followed by a Kourtjian goal. In the second half, Fenton took the lead and held it for some time, until about 15 minutes left to play in the game.
Junior Zac Wasylyna scored on a great run that tied the game up again.
Late in the second half, Fenton was awarded a penalty kick.
With outstanding skill and patience, keeper Shane Rondy came up big and made a great save to prevent Fenton from going up a goal.
The save was all that Oxford needed to send a jolt of electricity through the team.
It was Wasylyna, scoring on a kick from about 20 yards out to pull Oxford ahead 4-3.
Then, less than two minutes later, Wasylyna scored again by beating the keeper to the ball on the outside and finishing with a great shot into the empty goal, notching a long awaited hat trick to his impressive season stats.
Senior captain Alex Austin and Paese were credited with the assists.
Oxford defeated Fenton 5-3 and pushed their Flint Metro League record to 5-1-4, and 11-1-4 overall.
