Clothing Collection
The Brandon High School Fashion Club donates clothing to the Baldwin Shelter in Pontiac monthly. The club welcomes clothing donations from the community, as well as donations of sewing machines, fabrics, threads, or other sewing essentials for their group. Donations may be dropped off 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday-Friday at room 251 of Brandon High School, 1025 S. Ortonville Road. Details: (248) 627-1820, ext. 1251.
Grief Care Group
The Ortonville Baptist Church Grief Care Group meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month, at Ortonville Baptist Church, 173 Church St. For more information call (248) 627-2513.
Alateen
Alateen meets at 3 p.m., Tuesdays at St. Anne Catholic Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road. Alateen is part of Al-Anon, which helps families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. Alateen is a recovery program for young people. The only membership requirement is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.
Woodworking Club
The Woodworking Club meets 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St. The club is free and open to anyone 18 and older. Details: (248) 627- 6678.
Artist Club
The Artist Club meets at 9 a.m. on Mondays at the Edna Burton Senior Center, 345 Ball St. and is for anyone wanting to learn about or share their knowledge of drawing/painting. Bring projects to show or work on. Details: (248) 627-6678.
Library program registration begins
The Brandon Township Public Library, 304 South St., is now accepting registration for all adult, teen and youth programs and workshops. Programs begin the week of Jan. 2 and run through May 26. Registration is required for all programs and registrations are accepted in person at the adult or youth services desks at the library, online at www.brandonlibrary.org or by calling (248) 627-1460.
Advent Services
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will host Wednesday Advent services at 7:30 p.m., with potluck dinners at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. The church is located at 270 Grange Hall Road. Details: (248) 627-6222.

Women’s Christmas Breakfast
A Women’s Christmas Breakfast will be from 9 a.m.-noon, Dec. 10, at the Ortonville Baptist Church, 173 Church St. The event features a breakfast buffet, music, and creative performance by sculptress Tracy Sugg. ‘A Great and Mighty Wonder?
The Ortonville United Methodist Chancel Choir will present the Christmas Cantata, ‘A Great and Mighty Wonder? at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 11, at the church located at 93 Church St. The event is free and a potluck supper will begin at 6 p.m. Details: (248) 627-3125.

Holiday Book Sales
The Friends of Brandon Library will host a used book sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Dec. 17, in the Friend’s Alcove at the library, 304 South St. The sales feature gently used books, videos and audio tapes. Christmas at SLUMCity
‘Christmas at SLUMCity,? a charity concert to benefit the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund (OCEF) and the Oxford/Orion FISH food pantry, will be 7:30 p.m., Dec. 17 at Seymour Lake United Methodist Church, 3050 Sashabaw Road. The concert features traditional and original holiday songs by nine different performers. Tickets are $10 and includes coffee and dessert. All proceeds go to OCEF and the FISH food pantry. Christmas Tree Sales
The Goodrich Lions Club will have Christmas tree sales Monday-Friday from 2-7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays from noon-6 p.m. until Dec. 23 at the Lions Club located at 9196 S. State Road in Goodrich.
Food for Fines Amnesty Program
The Brandon Township Public Library will forgive overdue fines on all books returned to the library from Dec. 1-30 when patrons donate non-perishable items to the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund. Food contributions must be non-expired and non-perishable. Personal hygiene products and paper products will also be accepted. The library is located at 304 South St. Details: (248) 627-1471.
