The Lake Orion Baptist Lions traveled to the First Baptist Church of Lapeer on Dec. 13, defeating Faith Home School, 64-21.
All of the Lions played and all of them scored in the game. Clinton Verley led all scorers for the Lions with 14 points and nine rebounds.
David King and Eric Dewar each had 10 points. Ben Cuyler and Matt Dobis each scored eight points.
Also scoring for the Lions was reserve guard Zach Hallet, with four points. Jon Moreno, Cole Welby, Aaron Burns, Jeremy Case and Ben Vincent each scored two for the team.
The Lions controlled the boards with 36 rebounds to the opponent’s 18. The Lions also had 19 assists.
On Dec. 16, the Lake Orion Baptist hosted the Calvary Christian Kings of Midland, losing 67-48.
Calvary plays in Division I, while the Lions are in Division II of the Michigan Association of Christian Schools.
At the half, the score was tied 22-22. The Kings came on strong in the third, and took a lead of eight points in the fourth quarter.
Verley scored 18 points, and Dobis had nine points. Cuyler had seven points and King had six.
Moreno and Dewar each scored four points for the team.
The Lions were 2-4 for the season after playing the Kings.
