As a fledgling group, the Clarkston Lions Club is looking for causes within the community to champion ? recently, they found one in the Clarkston Lighthouse.
On Feb. 3, the Lions Club donated a check for $400 dollars to Lighthouse.
‘We heard a lot of good things about them,? Lions Club President Brace Kase said. ‘Hopefully as time goes by we’ll be able to help more and more.?
The donation will be poured into Lighthouse’s Good Neighbor Fund.
?(The Good Neighbor Fund) lets us help people who might not qualify for grant funding or lets us go over grant funding to help someone,? Lighthouse Manager Connie Stapleton said. ‘This was a nice big check, so that will do a lot of good.?
According to Stapleton, Lighthouse is currently gearing up for their biggest fund-raiser of the year ? the Hunger Walk ? held March 6 at Canterbury Village.
‘It seems like attendance has been dwindling, so hopefully a new location will help,? said Stapleton.
