Kaitlyn Bergeron, a fifth-grader at Orion Oaks Elementary School, was recently honored as a winner of the Oakland Parenting Awareness Michigan Essay Contest, for her essay titled ‘My Parent Knows Best Because…? She received a $25 Borders gift certificate, calculator and framed certificate at an awards ceremony on March 13 at the Borders Books in Rochester Hills.
