Suspicious man near bus stop

According to police reports at the Independence Township substation, on March 29 a 14-year-old youth reported a suspicious older male in a vehicle approached him and asked if he needed a ride to the corner on Woodcreek Trail.
The suspicious man was described as a white male with gray hair and a mustache, driving a dark color pickup truck.
As stated in the police reports, the man was unknown to the youth and drove off after the youth said he would just run there. The incident took place approximately 60 feet from the bus stop as the youth walked alone.
The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m., but was not reported until later that day when the victim told his parents.
Lieutenant Dale LaBair said he has no reason to believe the incident was linked with the two reports of suspicious people near Clarkston Schools in January that prompted school system to send a letter home notifying parents. The incident remains under investigation.
