Liebner’s three hits leads Blackhawks to defeat of Adams

Brandon’s offense received contributions from several players as they evened their season record April 10.
The host Blackhawks used a five-run second inning to spark an 8-6 win against Rochester Adams in a nonleague contest.
Jessica Liebner led the Brandon offensive charge by going 3-for-4 on the day with two RBI and a run scored. Jennie Sherman helped out by driving in three runs and going 2-for-4, while Asaiah Lowe had a double and triple in the game with one RBI and one run scored.
Annemarie Solley and Brooke Schaefer each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Kim Michal was the winning pitcher for the Blackhawks.
By contrast, the Blackhawks could not get their offense untracked as they dropped a doubleheader against host Flint Kearsley April 6, losing the first game 1-0 and the nightcap 3-0.
Brandon was the victim of a no-hitter in the first game, and managed only three walks ? two by Ashley Prescott and one by Schaefer. Michal only allowed one run in six innings of work, but it was not enough for the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks did not fare much better in the second game, managing four hits (two by Liebner, and one each by Ashley Brady and Annemarie Solley) and one walk (by Lowe).
