The Lake Orion Baptist Baseball squad ended the first two weeks of the season with a 5-2 record.
The Lions opened the season splitting two games with Bethesda Christian, winning 8-3 in the opener.
Dave King picked up the victory in game one, giving up just one hit. James Moreno and Cole Welby had two hits a piece.
Welby took the loss in the second game, as the Lion defense committed 8 errors in a 12-1 defeat.
The Lions then travelled to Detroit for a contest with Cesar Chavez Academy. The Lions defense came up lame again, as CCA scored five unearned runs with two outs in the last inning, dealing the Lions a 12-11 loss.
Welby and Zach Halleck each had three hits while Jon Moreno added a pair.
The Lions returned to the win column with a pair of dominating performances against Grace of Gaylord at Springfield Christian.
The Lions won 14-3 and 10-3, behind pitchers Chris Hojnacki and Matt Cameron. King had hits in all six of his at bats and added four RBIs on the day.
The Lions then opened conference play on April 13 against Bethany Christain.
In a highly anticipated pitching duel, King edged BC’s Luke Harding 4-3 in the opening game. Each pitcher had nine strikeouts.
The Lions scored one run in each of the last four innings to cap an impressive comeback.
LOBS put up seven quick runs in the first two innings of game two, but BC responded in the fourth by scoring seven of their own.
The Lions roared back with four runs in the top of the fifth to put the game away 11-7.
The Lions resume play on April 25 at Rochester Hills Christian.
