Incumbent Colleen Schultz was re-elected to the Oxford Board of Education and she will be joined by Sue Tombrella, who won the other four-year seat available.
Schultz received 885 votes while Tombrella garnered 760 votes.
Challenger Alan Weber, a 2001 Oxford High School graduate, was defeated, coming in third with 687 votes.
The above numbers include all the votes from Oxford, Addison, Brandon, Dryden and Metamora townships.
No Oxford district voters in Hadley Township participated in yesterday’s election. Only a handful of district voters reside there.
‘Thank you for the confidence. Thank you for re-electing me. I promise I’ll do a good job,? Schultz said.
Tombrella said she’s ‘very happy? to have won, but ‘I think our challenges have just begun.?
‘I’m looking forward to working with the team. I’m looking forward to working with members of the community. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,? she said.
Tombrella expressed her gratitude toward everyone that helped elect her.
‘There’s just an awesome number of people out there that helped tremendously ? people within the schools, family, friends, supporters in Oxford Lakes. If it wouldn’t have been for them, I probably wouldn’t be where I am. So, thank you very much.?
