Downtown Lake Orion’s Fifth Annual Flower Fair and Home and Garden Marketplace is this Sat. and Sun., May 20-21.
Sat. hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun. hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The weekend kicks off on Fri., May 19, with the Mystery Tour of Fine Art and Fine Wine.
The OAC will also present Art in Bloom, an all-media art show and street banner exhibition, held in conjunction with Flower Fair.
The OAC will also be presenting the Pots and Flowers Art Show, a floral all-media show and sale, which runs through June 2. OAC hours are Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and on display will be a spring assortment of highly sought after Pewabic tiles and pottery.
At the fair, vendors will offer everything from flats of flowers to garden ponds and outdoor furniture. Speakers will be on hand on Sat. to answer questions about their products and give ‘how to? lessons.
There will also be activities for the kids, including a moonwalk, climbing wall and Radio Disney, as well as treats like ice cream and kettle corn. Pontoon boat rides will be offered by the Fireworks Association, and Jim Ingram of the Orion Historical Society will lead historical tours at 1 p.m. on both days.
Look for The United Methodist-Habitat for Humanity booth, and let them store your purchases and help you back to your vehicle with their wagon bridgade. The Orion Senior Center will also be at the fair, selling flowers to raise funds for senior center programs and activities.
