Congressman Mike Rogers recently presented two high students from Lake Orion, along with other Oakland County high school seniors, with a Congressional Medal of Merit, at a ceremony in Lansing on May 12. Thirty-three students were honored, including Lake Orion High School senior Yoko Yanagita (pictured with group), and Lake Orion Baptist School senior Cole Welby (not pictured). Graduating seniors were nominated by their schools, based on a criteria set by Rogers. Each student demonstrated exemplary citizenship and academic excellence throughout their high school careers.
