The Paint Creek Elementary Learning Support Services staff recently hosted a Reading Road Rally, with a NASCAR theme, at the school on May 18.
The learning support staff host an activity ever year, and this was their first time doing a rally.
First- through fifth-graders, along with their parents, formed teams to compete in the rally, which involved following a series of clues to different areas of the school.
Each area was given a reading-theme name, like The Word Bank, and Rhyme Time Beach, and at each stop the teams worked on reading-centered activities to get to the next clue.
Learning support staff members Nancy Secor, Jenny Jantz and Lisa Sabo put the event together, and estimated about 50 kids and their families participated.
