Lake Orion United Methodist Church held a Fiesta Vacation Bible School on July 24-30. The VBS had 144 children in the morning session, and another 41 in the evening, along with the support of 35 youth and 75 adults, as leaders and helpers. They collected over $1,500 for the United Methodist Samuteb Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which will buy 75 hot water bottles for incubators, and 75 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect children from malaria. They also put together 32 blankets for Spanish-speaking children in Latin America who are in need, and will include 185 Bible storybooks, written in Spanish–all to be distributed by the International Bible Society.
