The Orion Township Board accepted a grant of nearly $700,000 from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality at their Aug. 21 meeting.
The grant will help the township perform an Inflow and Infiltration Study on its sanitary sewer system.
Work on this study has been going on for several months.
The water and sewer department was approved for a grant of $688,894, plus a 10 percent match requirement from the township.
