Spend taxes on community, not senior center

Dear Editor,
After’seeing the new Auburn Hills Community/Senior Center’there’should be’no question’to Independence Township voters that the proposals for a stand alone Senior Center are not’an efficient’use of our tax dollars and both should be voted down.?
The proposal’s wording change’from ‘Senior Center? to?’Adult Activities Center?’clearly attempts to create voter confusion.?’The change creates the illusion that the Senior Center is now for use by those 18’and older, but nothing could be further from the truth. This is still a stand-alone Senior Center building proposal. Because Independence Township still doesn’t have a Community Center, voting no twice really does make sense.’If we must spend tax dollars on a luxurious new building, then let’s do it right and’build a Community Center/Senior Center, not just a’Senior Center. A No-No vote on Nov. 7 is a Yes-Yes vote for the community.
