Kortni Elsworth scored 20 points as the Goodrich varsity girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Genesee Area Conference Red Division title with a 65-11 win against host Mt. Morris Oct. 24.
Ashley Short scored nine points and Paige Plant added eight for the Martians, who improved to 13-2 overall and 11-1 in the division with five games remaining.
Coach Jason Gray said the Martians will be fine-tuning some areas before the start of the district playoffs.
‘I really think we need to continue to work defensively,? he said. ‘Our shooting at times can be suspect. We’ll have to try and win some games defensively; we just need to keep improving there.?
