Don and Merelyn Mallett of Independence Township celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their whole family in Muskoka, Ontario, in Canada.
The Malletts, who were married Aug. 17, 1957, met in high school in Oshawa, Ontario. Don was transferred to Michigan in 1969, and they have lived in Clarkston ever since.
They have three children, Sue (Keith) Sipperley, Dave (Jeannie) Mallett, and Sam (David) Moltmaker; and seven grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Kyle, Steven, Carolyn, Kelly, and Ethan.
