Hunter safety program scheduled

A Hunter Safety Class presented by the Oakland County Marine Division will be offered at Clarkston Health Center, 5625 Water Tower Place, Monday, Sept. 17 and Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. ? 10 p.m. The program is appropriate for all ages. Participants are tested at the completion of the course and those 10 years of age and older are awarded their Hunter Safety Certification Card from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
The course is 10 hours (8 hours in class and 2 hours of home study) and covers the basic fundamentals, such as; hunting history, safe firearm handling, animal identification and shot selection, laws and regulations, personal preparedness, survival skills and wildlife conservation.
Individuals must attend both classes to receive their certification. The program fee is $10 per person for the two-part course. Adults are encouraged to attend with their child(ren) at no additional expense.

Clarkston Health Center is located at 5625 Water Tower Place in Clarkston just off of Dixie Highway, north of White Lake Road, in the shadows of the blue water tower.
