To the editor,
Is this going to be the era of ‘mini? billboards on our State highways?
Perhaps, you have noticed that a sign directing traffic to the Big Boy Restaurant has appeared on the west side of M-15 near the US Post Office Retail Store, north of Dixie Highway. Actually, the sign has reappeared, since calls some months ago resulted in its removal.
A representative of the Michigan Department of Transportation called these ‘pathway? signs, to assist motorists. Presumably, the restaurant paid for this sign to be installed.
I have to wonder when other businesses will want to have their own ‘pathway? sign: Outback, Hamlin Pub, ACE, Kroger, etc. This could be the beginning of something new.
Do we really want ‘mini? billboards on our roadways?
