Sgt. Todd Michael Dunckley of Clarkston was recently awarded the Army Commendation Medal by Col. Dean Brown, commander of Camp Grayling.
Dunckley, a human resource specialist and retention non-commissioned officer, is assigned to the Joint Maneuver Training Center, Michigan Army National Guard, Camp Grayling.
He was awarded the medal for his ability to plan, resource, integrate, coordinate and execute the unit’s end of annual training social events for the years of 2005, 2006 and 2007.
According to his award certificate, he single-handedly instilled a superior level of ‘Espirit De Corps? that has no rival. His tremendous morale raising efforts reflect great credit upon himself, the Joint Maneuver Training Center, and the Michigan Army National Guard.
He has two years active duty in the Army and five years in the Michigan Army National Guard. Previous awards include three Army Achievement Medals. He graduated boot camp at Fort Sill, Okla., in 1985.
Dunckley is a 1980 graduate of Grayling High School, Grayling, Mich., he attended CMU and earned a Masters Degree in Education Administration and is currently a principal in Lake Orion Community Schools.
He is married to Lorra. They have three children, Philip, Madeleine, and Sawyer.
