Roof break-in
On Sept. 2, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a business in the 3900 block of Seymour Lake Road for the breaking and entering of a trailer from which power equipment was taken. The equipment trailer was broken into a few months previous and had reinforced doors, but entry this time was gained by a roof vent. The complainant suspects his son, who has an illegal drug addiction and is currently an employee of the company. His son’s friend is an ex-employee and also has a drug addiction. The equipment taken is worth more than $2,000.
Alarmed
On Sept. 4, Brandon deputies were dispatched to Chase Bank, 761 S. Ortonville Road, for an alarm. The rear door was open, but nothing appeared out of order. The door was secured.
Brick break
On Sept. 5, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3600 block of Hawthorne for a report of malicious destruction of property. A landscaping brick was thrown through a front window. A neighbor saw the suspect, described as a man in his late teens to early 20s, about 5?8? with short brown hair. The neighbor gave chase, but lost the suspect when he ran to a red S-10 Jimmy truck.
The nose knows
On Sept. 6, a Brandon Deputy Mike Garrison and his K-9 partner Bodi were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hummer Lake Road in Oxford to help find a group home resident. Bodi tracked into the woods and found the resident, who was safely returned.
Stolen guns
On Sept. 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 4600 block of Staton Road for a report of larceny from an auto. The complainant’s vehicle had been broken into through a side window and the driver’s door unlocked. Two firearms that were on the floorboards were taken? a black Berretta pistol, model U-22, with a weave scope, and a stainless steel Mossburg rifle, model 640, also with a weave scope.
Chainsaw theft
On Sept. 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 1800 block of S. Ortonville Road for larceny of Stihl chainsaws from an unlocked garage.
Warranted
On Sept. 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3900 block of Azalea for a felony warrant arrest for violation of probation.
Served
On Sept. 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the area of Woodbridge Street near Kearsley Court for a harassment complaint, and while checking the area saw two suspicious males. The suspects tried to run and got caught in thick brush. They were ordered out and when one suspect’s name was run in LEIN, it was discovered he had a personal protection order against him that had not been served. The suspect was given verbal notice of the PPO.
Smashed and slashed
On Sept. 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 5500 block of Oakhill Road for malicious destruction of property to a vehicle that had been parked in the lot for sale. The windshield and side window were smashed on the Dodge 3500 Ram truck and two rear left tires, as well as the front left and right tires were slashed. The headlights and turn signals were also smashed. The recently purchased vehicle was not registered or insured. A blue Chevy pick-up in the lot, also for sale, had its windows smashed, too.
Irate Ex
On Sept. 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3800 block of Apple for a civil matter complaint. The complainant’s soon-to-be ex-wife moved out of the home four to five months ago, and tried to force her way back in on this date, because, the complainant said, his female friend spent the night and was
still there. The soon-to-be ex-wife was irate and causing trouble. Once the police were called, she left. The police tracked her down and she said she had gone to the home to get her belongings and her children’s things. She said she was still married and it was her house. The deputy told her once she has been gone 4-5 months, she cannot go and walk right in.
Mighty pretty
On Sept. 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3600 block of Hawthorne for threats. The complainant is allowing a friend to stay with him and the friend’s ex-girlfriend is making threats to damage his property for letting her ex-boyfriend stay there. The complainant says she told him, ‘You have some mighty pretty windows on your house and cars. It would be a shame if something happened.? The suspect denies making threats.
Smashed
On Sept. 9, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3300 block of Breezewood Court for malicious destruction of property. The driver’s side window of the Ford van was smashed.
Auto theft
On Sept. 9, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3800 block of Apple Street for an auto theft. The complainant’s truck was stolen. His wallet was also in the truck, with three credit cards that later showed activity. The complainant suspects a recent guest at his home who is a known drug user and was released on a judge’s emergency order two days ago from the Oakland County Jail.
Started and finished
On Sept. 9, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3800 block of Apple for larceny from an auto. The door locks to the vehicle don’t work and the complainant’s starter checkbook with 25 checks is missing, as well as her friend’s driver’s license.
Missing clothes
On Sept. 10, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3600 block of Hawthorne for larceny from an auto. Clothes were stolen and the complainant’s daughter’s purse was thrown behind the mobile home, along with dirty clothes.
CD-less
On Sept. 10, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3700 block of Juniper for larceny from an auto. Someone entered the unlocked car and took 20 CDs.
Catalytic calamity
On Sept. 11, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to Masterack, 1695 S. Ortonville Road, for larceny from an auto. Two catalytic converters were stolen.
Shattered
On Sept. 11, a walk-in complaint was taken at the Brandon substation. The complainant lives in the 6300 block of Oakhill Road and on Sept. 8, shortly after mowing her lawn, found the passenger front window on her vehicle shattered.
