K-9 Deputy Boomer knew he smelled trouble when the call came for an assist to Clarkston Police around 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Clarkston Officer Roy Johnson said he’d only been gone from the station at 3 E. Church about 30 minutes when he returned to find one of the city’s three police vehicles wrapped in plastic and dripping with what appeared to be dish soap.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy Lonnie Mullins was dispatched to the scene with Boomer when Johnson requested the dog.
Boomer tracked east along East Church Street, where he turned north and tracked west along Buffalo.
Unfortunately, Boomer finally lost the track in the East Washington Street roadway, and was unable to pick the scent back up.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Clarkston Police at 248-625-0088.
