New regulations considered by township planning commission

Brandon Twp.- The planning commission will meet at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 25, at the township offices, 395 Mill St.
Building and Planning Director Tim Palulian said agenda items include a presentation by Rick McAvinchey, who will request that the planning commission adopt new regulations to limit disruption of natural features as defined on the overlay part of the development plan; and a study session on the final draft of a zoning ordinance, part of which will focus on fencing regulations.
‘Based on recent cases, the Zoning Board of Appeals feels there isn’t specific enough language to deal with fencing in the community,? Palulian said.
Issues to be addressed could include height requirements and general fencing aesthetics, but the primary concern, he noted, is that no specific language directs fencing and how it is to follow existing contours of the land, or if filling can be permitted.
