Antiques up for auction at historical society fundraiser

The Clarkston Community Historical Society will host its first antique auction at Independence Township Library’s meeting room on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
‘It should be a fun evening, even if people don’t buy anything; it should be fun to come to,? said Toni Smith, Heritage Museum director.
Auction items include a child’s sled, Oriental rug, cane chairs, parson’s table, 1920s-era mahogany armoire, antique jewelry, paintings, and an 1890’s stimulator doll, which is a figurine dressed and carrying products offered by the store. This would show shoppers what they had for sale. Boxes filled with small antique items will also be up for bid, Sith said.
‘It is something new and unique that we have never done before ? we’re curious to see what the turnout will be,? said Jennifer Arkwright, CCHS president and publicity chairperson
Refreshments will be served during the auction. All proceeds will benefit the Clarkston Heritage Museum, located in the library.
