Kyle Brett, a 2007 Lake Orion High School graduate, always lived his life to the fullest and made a positive difference in the lives of anyone who came in contact with him. Kyle’s extreme love of family, friends, his motorcycle, the outdoors, and music allowed him to be the caring and charming individual that he was.
On the evening of Sept. 21, 2007, Kyle’s life was cut short in a traffic accident whenan SUV collided with his motorcycle in Rochester Hills. Although Kyle’s life was taken suddenly, his memory will always live on.
Kyle enjoyed being in a rock band while at LOHS, and he was always a permanent fixture at the annual Dragon GAP Rock shows that are held at the high school each winter.
Accordingly, the Lake Orion High School auxiliary gym played host to the Kyle Brett Benefit Rock Show Celebration on Oct. 26.
The Rock Show was originated by Kyle’s older brother, Eric, and his friends in conjunction with the Dragon Guided Activities Program (GAP).
Over 160 family members and friends of Kyle Brett came together that night, along with nine LOHS alumni rock-n-roll bands, to celebrate the life of a young man who had a passion for making others smile.
The Movement Factory kicked off the show in grand fashion, followed by the Doc Holliday Band, Bradley Mape-Brown, the Deming Sisters, Eric Brett and Aaron Kyle, Howl, Sarah Pavliscak, and Soma.
The night was topped off by a reunion of the widely popular band Small Town Revolver.
The encore for the evening came when Kyle’s mother, Debbie Brett, and friends belted out an inspiring version of George Harrison’s ‘My Sweet Lord.?
All in all, the evening provided a lot of laughs, tears, and healing for the family and friends of Kyle Brett. Likewise, over $1300 was raised to go towards the Kyle Brett Memorial Trust Fund.
Kyle William Brett is gone but will certainly never be forgotten.
