Groveland Twp.- A 16-year-old Groveland Township girl was taken into custody Tuesday after she threatened her mother with a knife and stabbed a man who tried to intervene.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies from Springfield Township, backed by deputies from the Brandon substation, were dispatched around 2:14 a.m., Nov. 13 to the incident in the 6000 block of Kimberly Drive. Michigan State Police had no cars available to respond at that time.
According to police reports, the girl became enraged from a related emotional condition. The stabbing victim did not have serious injuries. The girl’s mother had minor injuries from being hit in the head with a glass by her daughter.
The girl was arraigned as a juvenile on 2 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon on Nov. 13 at Family Court and is lodged at Children’s Village.
