In response to ‘Class addition mishandled,? The Citizen, Nov. 10, page 6: I thought the sentence stating, ‘They were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation? was exactly what I experienced this summer with the same administrative individuals within the Brandon School System. There were several issues concerning the Parent/Teacher Organization that needed to be addressed. These items were brought up to the Brandon administration by the newly elected PTO (of which I was a member) several times in an orderly and concise matter. Each time the issues were ignored and disregarded. This continued into the summer and basically kept the PTO hands tied so we could not move forward with the 2007-2008 school year. I identified with the statement in the above referenced letter, ‘Who can we go to when we need a problem rectified?? Apparently there is no one to go to within the Brandon School system, and the events of the summer pushed me to remove my sixth-grade child from the Brandon School System. I have a school system which is responsive, which means it can happen, and I am happier for it.
