The Brandon varsity pom-pon team competed at state competition for the first time in nine years, at Eastern Michigan University on Feb. 9. The team finished 13th.
In the guy/girl dance that was at the Birch Run Expo Center Feb. 10, the girls took a third place victory. Jireh DeJose and Katy Tice won second place in their division for solo performances at the competition.
‘The impressive thing is that my girls worked so hard to qualify for states and we made it,? says varsity pom-pon Coach Kristen Palmgren. ‘I am very proud of them.?
