Kendall Podvin of Brandon Township won the 2007 Michigan Hunter Association (MHJA) Primary Junior Hunter Championship. Along with her eight-year- old thoroughbred, PJ, Kendall captured the state top spot by bringing home the ‘Shadowbox Memorial Trophy.? The trophy is engraved with her name and year and the passed on to the 2008 champion.
In addition, Kendall has been awarded an embroidered champion horse blanket and her picture in the magazine, ‘The Chronicle of the Horse.’Kendall and PJ train at Amber Way Stables in Ortonville under the guidance of trainer Lauren Smillie. Kendall, 12, is a seventh grade student at Brandon Middle School.
