Members of the Oxford Lions Club will be out and about in the village from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 selling their little plastic white canes. Conducted since 1946, this sale is one of two annual fund-raisers the club depends upon to finance its humanitarian work. From eyeglasses and Christmas baskets to clothing for local needy folks and state-level Lions Club projects, the service club always puts its funds to good use. Locally, the Lions support Oxford -Addison Youth Assistance, scholarships for OHS seniors, the Boys and Girls Club, and Michigan Youth Leadership.
