Tough week for Lax boys, but program raises $1,600 in honor of Luby

The boys? lacrosse squad fell to 2-5 on the season, dropping three home games last week against Adams (16-7) on Tuesday, Waterford (9-5) on Thursday and Bishop Foley (10-7) on Saturday.
Andy Plets scored twice against Adams and three times against Waterford. Johnny Costigan had two goals in both weekday games and added five more against Foley.
Spencer Murphy made 19 saves against Adams, 14 more against Waterford and eight in the Foley game.
The Saturday varsity and JV games marked ‘Kathy Luby Day,? with the program raising over $1,600 for the Luby’s Boobies 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk team.
Luby, a teacher in the Orion school district, most recently at Oakview Middle School, passed away last month at the age of 40.
The team returns home on Thursday for a game with rival Clarkston at 7 p.m.
