Primerica comes to town

Goodrich – A new financial services business in town will offer lending, insurance and investment opportunities at one location.
Primerica Financial Services is located inside the Direct Properties office, 10242 Hegel Road, next to Cranberries Cafe.
‘We will be the only business in Goodrich to offer all three services,? said owner, James Jacobs. ‘Best of all, our services are designed to get people out of debt and become financially independent.
Jacobs said a complimentary FNA (financial needs analysis) is now available by scheduling an appointment. The meeting is to gather information and then enter it into a specialized computer software program.
‘This is a customized and confidential written plan and analysis that only takes 30 minutes in our office,? said Jacobs. ‘The average cost for this kind of plan is normally around $1,000. We will do it for free.?
The five basic sections and information each client will receive, James said, is debt management, retirement income, education funding, income protection and building a financial future.
‘Primerica currently generates 60,000 FNA’s a month and approximately 50,000 of those people who have their own customized FNA have switched their finances over to them,? said Jacobs.
Wanting the community to understand he is an educator and not a salesman, Jacobs is particularly interested in helping middle income families get ahead. ‘It doesn’t take a lot of money to get a savings account started, only a minimum of $25 a month is required. With the downturn in the economy right now, people need us now more than ever before. We can help people get back on track and help them with debt management.? Proud of the company he represents, Jacobs said Primerica has 5,000 offices nationwide and more than 100,000 representatives and six million clients in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Spain.
‘People don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan,? said James. ‘We show them how.?
With four licensed agents in the office right now, James said he is hoping to have 15 by the end of the year. ‘We are looking for eleven more people and will pay for their license and training to become an agent,? said James.
James and his wife and co-owner, Bernadette, are extremely active in their community. Besides working with her husband to develop and maintain Primerica, Bernadette is a licensed real estate agent and said once she finds a home for a client, Primerica will help them fund their mortgage.
‘We do not have any interest only or ARM loans, and we have never sold any of our mortgages,? she said. ‘Our services are designed to get people out of debt.?
James, 34, and Bernadette, 28, said they have lived in Goodrich for about three years now.
They have three children, Ashley, 10-years-old, J.D., 8-years-old and Kate, 1-year-old.
