Goodrich – The Hegel Road project will be finished two months ahead of schedule.
The major street project that snarled traffic and caused conjestion in the downtown area will be completed in about a week, said Pete Morey, village street administrator.
‘The bottom layer will be paved on Monday, and the top layer will be paved on Tuesday,? said Morey. ‘Putting everything back in place, Morey said, is the only thing left to do. ‘We will re-plant lawn and grass areas and fix driveways and cement approaches.?
The project was scheduled to be done Aug.18.
Morey said the reason for the early completion date was in part due to no unforeseen problems. ‘We have had good weather and good crews. They have worked every day, as hard and as long as they could.?
Now that the stretch of road located on Hegel, 30 feet of east of Seneca to 30 feet west of the Goodrich Country Club is resurfaced, residents will get their mailboxes back, schools buses can get through and detours will be a thing of the past.
