Brandon Twp.- Summer tax bills for 2008 were sent to residents on June 30.
Tax bills have a new lock box address, Dept. 77202, P.O. Box 77000, Detroit, MI 48277, which goes straight to JPMorgan Bank and payments sent to this address will be processed as soon as they are received, to be put in the township’s tax account.
Treasurer Linda Owen said the procedure allows the money to be invested sooner, is provided at no cost to taxpayers, and eliminates time spent collecting mail and sorting it by the clerk’s office.
Taxes may still be paid at the treasurer’s office, 395 Mill St. or place them in the drop box available on the east side of the building. Payments may also be made at any Bank of America branch (formerly LaSalle).
