A preliminary final draft version of Springfield Township’s revised master plan should be arriving on the desks of officials in surrounding communities this week.
The township planning commission recently finished an update of the extensive document, which employs narrative and maps to describe overall development for current property uses and future development plans.
At last week’s regular meeting, the township board approved the master plan for distribution, also required by law, to the townships of Brandon, Waterford, White Lake, Highland, Holly, Rose, Groveland.
Oakland County, SEMCOG and local utility companies will also receive a copy, and each entity will have 63 days to review the plan and make comments before the township sets a public hearing date for members of the community.
Board members said the hearing would likely be set at a September meeting.
The document is available for inspection at the Springfield Township clerk’s office. Call 248-846-6510 for more information.
