Brandon Schools Renovations completed for 2008-09

Dear Brandon School District:
It is a pleasure to celebrate with the Brandon Community School District the implementation of new technologies and buildings approved by the citizens of your community. It is essential that our youth have the tools necessary to succeed, and I would like to commend the community members who supported the bond extension for the Brandon School District.
The improvements to be implemented within the Brandon School District will provide a positive environment for the students to grow and learn. The additions to the Brandon School District are extensive and include improvements in technology, remodels, and new building developments. The technological advances include over 1,600 new computers, digital cameras, scanners, DVD players, and wireless technology in all buildings. In addition, a new elementary school for grades K-4 will open in the spring of 2009, along with several remodeling projects across the district. By renovating mechanical and electrical systems and upgrading finishes, the cost of operating the existing facilities will be reduced.
Through these numerous advancements, success and innovative ideas can be fostered by each student in the Brandon School District. I thank the teachers, administration, and community members for their commitment to excellence and their desire to provide students with a high-quality education.
Again, congratulations on the successful completion of this exciting education project, and to the citizens of the community who supported the school district in moving forward.? If I can ever be of assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.?
Sincerely,
Mike Rogers, Member of Congress

Dear Brandon School District:
Oakland Schools congratulates the Brandon School District on the progress made thus far on their bond projects. As an intermediate school district serving Oakland County schools, we are always pleased when a local school district, with community support, undertakes projects such as Brandon’s bond in order to better meet current and future needs of their students and community.
Today, Oakland County school districts are faced with increased demands and decreased dollars. Therefore it is especially noteworthy that the district planned for long-term growth, renovations, upgrades, and reduced maintenance costs with the support of Brandon taxpayers.
It’s exciting to see that the work financed by this bond will increase technology availability and use for Brandon students and capitalizes on improved Internet access, special needs technology, and a well-thought-out integration of technology in the classroom.
We are also pleased to see that the renovations and updates will reduce the cost of cleaning, maintaining and operating district facilities. We support planning that considers such long-term maintenance and financial impact.
We offer our congratulations on a work in progress that will benefit Brandon students, educators and the Brandon community for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Vickie L. Markavitch, Ph.D.
