Board budgets bond bucks

With about $3.6 million in bond dollars allocated for non-instructional spending, Clarkston Community Board of Education members approved the district’s capital needs list Monday.
Higher-cost items include replacement of computers at all elementary buildings, as well as the junior high and middle schools ($1.3 million). Televisions across the district will also be replaced with ceiling-mounted projectors ($500,000).
The list also calls for district-wide paving projects ($400,000) replacement of lockers at CJH ($225,000), furniture replacement ($150,000), flooring replacement ($125,000), and energy management/mechanical upgrades ($112,000) at various buildings.
All projects will be put out for bid and proposals submitted for board approval before work begins.
