Book signing by Lake Orion’s own
Lake Orion’s Katie Yamasaki will be stopping by Little Monsters on 15 E. Flint St. to sign her newly illustrated book, Honda, The Boy Who Dreamed of Cars.
Yamasaki graduated from Lake Orion in 1995 and is now an artist living and working in New York City. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Earlham College and her Master’s of Fine Arts in 2003 from The School of Visual Arts in New York City.
She will be at Little Monsters Friday, Nov. 28 at noon to sign books, which will be available there for purchase.

The fifth grade class at Stadium Drive Elementary invites the public to watch ‘Hyperbole Heights,? an original musical production by the class. Join them Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Have a Holly Jolly good time
The Orion Area Parade Group will host the annual Holly Jolly Folly holiday party at Golling Pontiac GMC, located at 1491 S. Lapeer, on Friday, Dec. 5 beginning at 7p.m.

Proceeds from the party help pay for the Orion Area Holiday Lighted Parade, which will take place Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. in downtown Lake Orion.

Shop for festive greenery
The Lake Orion United Methodist Church presents the Holiday Greens Market and Gifts on Friday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Customers can browse their fresh selection of 16-32? wreaths, cedar roping, pine roping, boxwood roping, evergreen bouquets, holly, candle rings, door swags, and bows. Baked goods, poinsettias and other gifts will also be available for purchase.

Hear the voices of Classic Chorale
Classic Chorale, a community chorus made up of women from Oxford, Lake Orion and Ortonville will present a beautiful Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
Jim Watson will direct the chorus, with accompaniment by Ashley Elliott.
The performance will take place at the Oxford Free Methodist Church located at 790 S. Lapeer Rd, in Oxford. There is no admission charge and a free-will offering will be taken. Handicap parking is available.
Join Santa for pictures and pancakes
The Lake Orion Lionesses present Breakfast with Santa at the Boys? and Girls? Club located at 1801 Waldon Rd., east of Joslyn Rd.
On Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 to 11 a.m. guests can enjoy a menu of pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee, milk and juice. Santa will be available for pictures, along with a craft activity table, and free train rides on Doc’s ‘Pollyanna.?
Admission is $3 at the door with proceeds going to Lioness Charities.

Watch the lighted parade
The Orion Area Parade Group invites the community to celebrate the holiday season at the Holiday Lighted Parade, Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Village of Lake Orion.
This year’s parade will have the Lake Orion Marching Band and Lake Orion’s very own Paint Creek Boys.
Also participating in the Holiday Parade is Santa Claus, the American Legion Post 233 Color Guard, Oakland Township Fire Dept., Orion Township Parks and Recreation, Golling Pontiac-GMC (the sponsors of the Holly Jolly Folly), Kerry’s Dance Stages, the Cabar Feidh Pipes & Drums, L.A. Dance, Susan Tucker, the Lake Orion Lioness Club, Rock-N-Roll K-9’s Performance Team and the Lake Orion Lions Club.
The Parade Group would also like to announce that Poppyseed Deli and Coffee will be selling hot chocolate beginning at 4:30 p.m. Poppyseeds will have a booth in front of their store, located at 36 W. Flint St. and also have a booth between Hanson’s Running Shop and the Lake Orion Veterinarian on Flint St.
Senior Center annual craft show
The Orion Senior Center would like to invite one and all to theirAnnual Craft Show which will run from Monday, Dec. 1 until Friday, Dec. 12.
The show will be held at the Orion Senior Center, located at 21 East Church Street in the Village of Lake Orion, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This year they will have many knitted and crocheted items, beautiful ceramic pieces, and a wide variety of wreaths and holiday decor for decorating and gifts.
