Dear Editor,
Twenty years ago, no one ever heard of a recall. Once in a while, there would be one concerning some dishonest politician, and he had to be really bad.
A village or small town would be going along, doing business in a normal way, with a few minor problems. New people move into the area and are mostly happy with the town, school and churches. Then there are others who find fault, no matter what the issue is. They complain about high taxes and make allegations that are not always true. Eventually, they get together and file for a recall to oust the present council. Target the good things the council has accomplished, including lowering taxes. They want to take over and run the village their way.
This is all about Goodrich. If you are asked to sign the recall petition, think hard before you put your signature on it. Do you want some relatively unknown person or persons taking our village finances and equipment? Ask them exactly what their future intentions and goals are.
I do not like what I am seeing in our future if the recall passes. Vote no.
