Senior Adam Frank took advantage of Livonia Churchill being one man down, scoring the first goal for Clarkston during Saturday’s game.
Livonia tied the score by the end of first period and scored four more before Frank added one more to the Wolves? tally on another powerplay.
The boys lost the game, 5-2.
Nick Heinrich, Sean Hancook, and Adam Bruderick had assists for the night.
Clarkston made 30 shots on Livonia’s net and Jonathan Williams made 28 saves.
The boys play North Farmington on Wednesday and take on rivals Lake Orion on Saturday.
Wolves host Lake Orion at 6:30 p.m.
Icers back in action
Clarkston’s hockey team may have lost their first game back from a long break, but they came back defensively strong.
Farmington Unified won the game last Wednesday, 2-0.
Both teams were equal in the game, until the third period.
With 9:48 left, Adam Phillips scored the first goal for Farmington Unified.
The second goal was made by Phillips with less than a minute left when the net was empty.
The team had pulled goalie Garrett Knappe with an intent to tie the game.
‘We played pretty good going into the third period,? said Coach Bryan Krygier. ‘We had more defense. To give up one goal is pretty good ? overall better defensively, better game for us.?
North Farmington out shot Clarkston 23-15.
This week, the team has a busy schedule with three games.
On Tuesday, the Wolves traveled to Port Huron to play Port Huron Northern High School.
‘They are well-coached,? said Krygier. ‘It will be a test for us.?
On Thursday, Wolves will host Birmingham Consolidated in a rematch. They played against Birmingham Consolidated in their first game of the season, tying 4-4.
Then, the Icers will host state title holders Grosse Pointe North on Saturday.
‘They are really a tough team,? said Krygier.
