Clarkston High School’s Team RUSH earned the highest award in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition’s State Championship at Eastern Michigan University, April 1-3.
The Chairman’s Award recognizes the team for its green efforts, team sustainability, outreach, and RUSH Regatta entrepreneurial and engineering summer event.
Team RUSH finished 12th out of 65 teams, eighth out of 136 teams in Michigan overall, at the state competition, Eastern Michigan University. Their official record is 31:19:2 in Michigan events.
The team earned three awards presented by other teams, Hangin? Around award from Team 548, Best Hanging Robot from Team 815, and Role Model Veteran Team, from Team 1.
The awards earned the team a spot at the World Championships, April 14-17, at the Georgia Dome.
